TERMINAL DESCENT: Of Darkest Light CD....Cult death metal...check songs!

Cult death metal, released by Mourning Star records, highly recommended!!
EVERYTHING about this project is in constant flux, and yet there is a palpable, conceptual consistency that binds each new lyrical theme and musical twist and turn to the last, creating a full specturm that will leave the listener scratching his/her head in disbelief. Mikkelson is an inventive guitarist, favoring midtempo to semi-blast tempos, and adding in the odd bit of keyboard to spice the sound up (in a non-pretentious manner, no pompous orchestral overtures here). This album and band are, in short, very highly recommended, to those who favor the cutting edge of metal, as opposed to the endless derivative Satan/gore mongers. The lyric sheet alone will have you reaching for your thesaurus even as the music leaves your neck muscles prey to ambulance-chasing lawyers (that's a headbanging reference....). Get this album, and get into a truly a tragically underground phenomena that is years, if not a decade or so, before its time.
