STARFIGHTERS: Alley Cat Blues 7" + Don’t touch me. [Hard Rock AC/DC type w. members of the Young family] Check sample!

Hard Rock AC/DC type of style and features members of the great Young family, of course related to Angus and Malcolm Young of AC/DC. Good music that is crossing over to N.W.O.B.H.M, and that is the reason why this L.P appears in most N.W.O.B.H.M wants lists

Artist: Starfighters
Release: Alley Cat Blues, 7" Version 1981
Genre: NWOBHM
Country: UK

1. Alley Cay Blues
2. Don't Touch Me

With a sound owing more than just a little nod to Australian rock & roll legends AC/DC and Rose Tattoo, most likely fueled by rhythm guitarist Stevie Young's family ties to AC/DC's Angus and Malcolm Young (Young even replaced the latter on the second leg of the Aussie great's 1988 US tour), the Starfighters were - and still are - not only a sure pleaser for NWOBHM aficionados but for each and everyone who likes his rock dirty and mean.

5.0 out of 5 stars AC/DC Links
Great band who should have gone to the next level, they supported AC/DC on the UK Back in Black tour in 1980. Stevie Young, a cousin of Malcolm and Angus, plays rythym guitar on this album and it is little suprise that there lies within a strong AC/DC influence. Listen to Alley Cat Blues as one fine example.
If you like AC/DC you will love this - brings great memories flooding back!

5.0 out of 5 stars An undiscovered gem !
An undiscovered gem.I first bought this on vinyl in 1981 or thereabouts and was blown away, more like Rose Tattoo than AC/DC i think, but the "Young" link/sound is undeniable, being in the family you wouldn`t really expect anything else. All tracks are really excellent, contains no "filler" as such. Stand out tracks i would say are "Alley Cat Blues" & "Don`t Touch me", will both have you reaching for the tennis racquet or that air guitar you`ve stashed away.A real good time fun vinyl, play it loud

5.0 out of 5 stars They Don't Make Them Like This anymore
When your copies of Highway to Hell and Back In Black are worn out - or don't do it for you anymore - slip this little baby and hear rock rolling like it should.
Fantastic vocal range - punchy, crisp, clean riffs that Angus himself would be proud of and profound lyrics that wouldn't be allowed today in our health & safety world.
Don't wait for the next Airbourne release - buy this instead. The price is worth 'Alley Cat Blues' alone.
