SHADOW KING: Shadow King (1st, debut, s.t) CD. Foreigner singer Lou Gramm + guitarist Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard, Dio). VIDEO
Shadow King
Origin: Los Angeles
Genres: Hard Rock
Years active: 1990-91
Label: Atlantic Records
Associated acts Foreigner, Def Leppard, Sweet Savage,
Shadow King was a rock band. Members included now former Foreigner lead singer Lou Gramm, former Sweet Savage, Dio, Whitesnake, Riverdogs, (and then future Def Leppard) guitarist Vivian Campbell, Lou Gramm's former Black Sheep and then future Foreigner bandmate bass player Bruce Turgon, and drummer Kevin Valentine.
Vivian Campbell and Bruce Turgon both also played with Lou Gramm as a solo artist previous to Shadow King.
They released a self-titled album in 1991. Although plans were made for a tour, they performed only once, at the Astoria Theatre in London, England, on December 13, 1991. Shortly afterward, Vivian Campbell announced he was leaving Shadow King to join Def Leppard. Although replacements were considered, the band members eventually went their separate ways, with Gramm and Turgon joining the reunited Foreigner in 1993.
Reportedly, Lou Gramm guested with Def Leppard on stage in 1992, shortly after Vivian Campbell joined Def Leppard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shadow King Rocks!,
I am a huge Foreigner/Lou Gramm fan. When I first heard Shadow King I was blown away. Lou's voice is amazing, as always, but the music is a little harder-driven than Foreigner. Somewhere between Whitesnake/Def Leppard. If you're a fan of this genre, you'll love this album. Bass-player Bruce Turgon's influence on the arrangements is felt throughout. And Vivian Campbell, now of Def Leppard fame, is great on lead guitar. This is one of the few albums that I love every song on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT ALBUM,
This is an all time classic album. I had the tape for years but i wanted the cd so thats why i just bought it again. Every song on this album is great. I would highly reccomend this for any one who likes bad english. As i said all the songs are awesome but my favorite would be "you don't even know i'm alive" which at the time i definitly could relate to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Under-the-Radar Masterpiece,
Listen-buy this CD! Lou Gramm(Foreigner vocalist)& Dio guitarist Vivian Campbell(& later Whitesnake,Def Leppard), came together for this one release that has not one single mediocre song. I happened to run across it when it came out, and bought it more out of curiosity. You expect something from these guys with such a solid reputation, and it does seem an odd combination but after listening to this CD once, I knew it was killer! The songs are smart, well-written, catchy, melodic, well-produced, great riffs and classic Lou Gramm vocal. I can just imagine what another release or 3 would've sounded like. May have been more a matter of timing because released a few years earlier, before grunge took over, it would be a bona fide classic. In my opinion it is nothing but! This is truly a gem worth checking out, especially since it is hard-to-believe reasonably priced. To categorize a genre, is to only say that this is simply great rock with consistent energy from start to finish! Hear what I'm saying-you cannot go wrong with this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOU GRAMM AT HIS BEST!!!!!!!,
GREAT 1991 CD FROM FOREIGNER SINGER. SOME SONGS COULD HAVE BEEN CHART-TOPPERS IF RADIO WOULD HAVE TAKEN IT A LOT MORE SERIOUSLY.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Duper, A Must!!! buy, regardless of price.,
What to write. Words cannot express how happy I am to get hold of this classic. Unfortunately there is not enough material avaialble from Lou Gramm besides the 2 Solo projects and his contribution with Foriegner. I wish if He had made more solo albums. He is definitely an Icon and if You like his voice, You gonna love this. He is at his best. I have to agree, this is Ready or Not with the tobasco topping. Lets pray, He gets in the best of health and keep singing forever. Thank you
