Scholomance is a strange band. Their music could be described as Dark / Symphonic / Heavy Metal with interesting concept and well written lyrics. Their influences include bands such as Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Meshuggah, Arcturus. Their music is highly technical, with lengthy solos and many keyboard passages, combined with brutal vocals. It's a strange hybrid, but it works quite well for them. They are changing styles and rhythms through the songs often and this is adding variety to their songs. They don't repeat themselves even on the most lengthy songs of the album. Very good effort and a hard to find 1st album.
