Mutiny - "Guilty As Charged"
This, the second demo of Mutiny really enthused me. The guys from Athens, even though they are very young, manage to reproduce very well in the 2 songs: "The Cross-bone Flag" and "Guilty As Charged". Generally, the band's style reminds something from Sanctuary of "Refuge Denied". Their very good vocalist and the modulation of his voice will definitely remind you of Warrel Dane and his party. The rest members are also very well synchronized like a well-wound up clock. In the first song they talk allegorically about the ship that carries the souls to the other world, plumed with the "piratical" flag. In the second one, they are occupied with the subject of death sentence. Their music is not modern and progressional at all. It has the intent color/modulation of Sanctuary and of the old good Iron Maiden. The only imperfection is, as usual, the poor and weak production, despite all the proud efforts of the guys and the Studio "Mythos".
I believe that it is worthy to check out Mutiny because they are a very hopeful and promising band, according to the first samples of their writing.

Mutiny came back with this promo cd including 2 new tracks. Their work is really professional, quite heavy and unexceptionable sound and five musicians that know well their job. Mutiny's main characteristic is the spectacular vocals of their tight vocalist, Alexis. The first track, "The Cross-Bone Flag" is a spetacular, well structured synthesis that made me listen it again and again despite its long duration (9 minutes). Awesome riffing, nice melodies, power rythms and of course the stunning vocals I mentioned. Their style reminds me the classic old times of Running Wild and Iron Maiden. Second track is "Guilty As Charged", not as impressive as the first but not bad. A classic heavy metal song, easy and pleasant listened. They are ready to release their first cd, and I wish them all the best, cause they worth it, definitely...
