Not Fakin' It is the second solo album by Michael Monroe released in 1989. Monroe's first solo album, Nights Are So Long, had attracted big record label's, and in 1988 Monroe signed to Mercury Records. Not Fakin' It was Monroe's first solo album to be distributed worldwide. Differences between Monroe and the record company about the album's marketing, led to the publisher not focusing on the promotion of the album. But beside's this, the music video for the song "Dead, Jail or Rock 'N' Roll" gained much airplay on MTV for featuring Monroe's good friend and fan, Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses. A music video was also made for the song "Man With No Eyes"
