"Viva Emptiness", the sixth full-length is slightly heavier than usual it still has that soft, mellow and melancholic sadness that only Katatonia are capable of picturing with their music. Katatonia has always been one of the most unique and important Swedish metal bands. The somewhat heavier appearance adds a brand new dimension to the Katatonia sound. The wonderful clean vocals by Jonas Renkse are as beautifully sad as usual and he is definitely one of the most important assets of the band. One of the highlights of 2003 so far.
