INAURA: One Million Smiles CD great band + story. Super modern ROCK sound production! Check out the KILLER VIDEO!

This is the debut album by a band formally known as Poloroid whom EMI gave a £½ million recording budget to and then promptly dumped them as apparently they couldn’t decide what to do with the resulting album. Figures, doesn’t it...The album was subsequently picked up by
an independent label, Organ Music and boy have they snapped up a gem. They then licensed it to M.F.N.Starting with “100 Degrees” we are treated to 11 tracks ranging through a maze of assorted influences from Porcupine Tree, Levitation, Radiohead, Catherine Wheel, Duran Duran, Floyd, Nine Inch Nails - the list is endless. You can find bits of everything here, the odd thing is perhaps, is that it works, a marriage of 70’s pomposity, 80’s style and 90’s dance all thrown together but gelling to tremendous effect. Pretty bloody groovy! Kinda like an electro-Pulp on speed. Catchy, infectious, danceable and intelligent. Vocally, Matt Carey floats somewhere between Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker and Nine Inch Nail’s Trent Reznor, but hey don’t let that put you off.
