The packaging for this album is very classy with extensive sleeve notes. The general style of God's Children's music is American in the style of Soul Asylum (later album) and Counting Crows. God's Children use a mixture of acoustic and electric guitars to create uplifting, but not necessarily happy music.

'Superman' opens the album, and uses the electric distorted clean idea. It is a memorable song that has excellent vocals and backing vocal's. 'Fools' is a more riff driven song with an understated chorus. 'laughter' starts with just one guitar and vocals and kicks in with the rest of the band later. 'Laughter' has the most passionate individual vocals on the album.

'Searching For Diamonds', a simple song strummed on the 2nd/4th beats giving it a different feel to any other song on the album. 'Well Well' sounds a bit like a song from Blind Melon first album because of it's folky/country influence, as does 'Place For Me'.

'Kill Joy' and 'King Pin' show the heavier, harder side to God's Children. 'Kill Joy' is a bass led song with strange vocals whilst 'King Pin' is the most complicated song which does settle down for the chorus.

'Heroes' and 'Sugar' are slower more melancholy songs. 'Heroes' is particularly impressive because of the vocal harmonies throughout the entire song.

For anyone who enjoys listening to Blind Melon, Soul Asylum, Counting Crows, this album sits in a par with those bands albums
