Open Up and Say... Ahh! is the second studio album by American glam metal band Poison, released in 1988 through the Enigma label. The album, which ultimately sold eight million copies worldwide, proved to be the band's most successful release. It spawned four hit singles, which are "Nothin' but a Good Time", "Your Mama Don't Dance" (a Loggins and Messina cover), "Fallen Angel", and their only number one single to date, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn". The album is widely considered a classic in the glam metal genre. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200, being denied the top spot by Bon Jovi's massively popular New Jersey album, Guns N' Roses debut record, Appetite for Destruction and Def Leppard's most successful album, Hysteria.
Open Up And Say Ahh was certified platinum in 1988 and 5x-platinum in 1991 by the RIAA. The album has been certified by CAN 4x platinum and by BPI gold.

The guy on the cover is a weird combination of Billy Idol and Michael Monroe, and there's a topless chick whom he's just knocked out (what!?!). Maybe he didn't actually clock her, it coulda been a technical knock out... who knows. Whatever's going on, it looks sleazy enough. TKO make me wonder why commercial Metal in the 80s had to be so extremely poncey... cuz these guys are commercial, but still very heavy, still Metal, and infinitely better than any commercially viable hair Metal band of the era. In Your Face is a perfect balance of Hard Rock that retains some Metal bite, and every single song is well written, catchy, and memorable. This is a truly great album... sometimes you really can judge a book by it's cover.

Hear 'n Aid was a one-off project of the hard rock/heavy metal scene of the 1980s to raise money for famine relief in Africa. According to Ronnie James Dio's MySpace profile, the project raised $1 million within a year.

The fourth Monsters of Rock festival featured a variable lineup with a solid bedrock of hard rock and heavy blues - represented by Whitesnake and ZZ Top respectively . Twisted Sister, Meat Loaf, Ronnie James Dio's ( ex Sabbath and Rainbow vocalist ) modestly self named outfit"Dio" and Diamond Head featured some quality players amongst their lineups , as did headliners Whitesnake, who featured ex Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord , skin thumper extraordinaire Cozy Powell and ace bassist Colin Hodgkinson from the semi legendary UK band Back Door. ZZ Top could of course always thoroughly entertain any crowd with their catchy blues/pop and were to be Donington headliners by 1985 on the back of their huge hit album Eliminator.

Twisted Sister were quite entertaining. Singer Dee Snider kept making references to 'Rock N' Roll'. ZZ Top were enjoying a bit of a comeback with their new album 'Eliminator' and in particular the singles 'Gimme All Your Lovin' and 'Sharp Dressed Man' with their memorable videos.
