Open Up and Say... Ahh! = Studio album by Poison
Released: May 3, 1988
Recorded: Late 1987 - Early 1988 at Conway Recording Studios in Los Angeles, United States
Genre: Glam metal, hard rock
Label: Enigma
Open Up and Say... Ahh! is the second studio album by American glam metal band Poison, released in 1988 through the Enigma label. The album, which ultimately sold eight million copies worldwide, proved to be the band's most successful release. It spawned four hit singles, which are "Nothin' but a Good Time", "Your Mama Don't Dance" (a Loggins and Messina cover), "Fallen Angel", and their only number one single to date, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn". The album is widely considered a classic in the glam metal genre. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200, being denied the top spot by Bon Jovi's massively popular New Jersey album, Guns N' Roses debut record, Appetite for Destruction and Def Leppard's most successful album, Hysteria.
Open Up And Say Ahh was certified platinum in 1988 and 5x-platinum in 1991 by the RIAA. The album has been certified by CAN 4x platinum and by BPI gold.

Recorded at Music Grinder Studios, Los Angeles, three drummers participated in the making of this album: Phil Taylor, who was fired after "I Ain't No Nice Guy" was recorded (because he did not learn his drum tracks), Tommy Aldridge who recorded most of the material on this album on a sessional basis only, and Mikkey Dee, who recorded the "Hellraiser" single (the song was originally co-written by Lemmy for Ozzy Osbourne's No More Tears album. Osbourne is also signed to Epic Records.)
The album was produced by Peter Solley with the exception of Hellraiser which was produced by Billy Sherwood, and used in the 1992 movie Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth.
Lemmy has claimed that this album would have been a hit, had the record company given proper distribution of the "I Ain't No Nice Guy" video clip.

Good, solid 80's-style hair metal. I guess the obvious comparisons would be stuff like early Warrant and also the Skyhigh album. I like this, and most the songs are pretty cool, with few killers that most 80's / early 90's albums of this style had. Good and very solid
IRON BOSS: Hung like Horse CD PROMO only. Stoner Rock mixed with ZZ Top, Ted Nugent + great cover. Check video.
Release Date: 2002-12-19
American 4 piece band. This is superb basic rock & roll with a metal touch and adding the humour of early VAN HALEN. Music is of course harder than VAN HALEN, and have a slight southern touch to it. For your pleasure !!
2002's "Hung Like A Horse" is Ironboss all grown up. Mixing a galloping bass-line and bullet-whizzing guitar riffs, the band lay down the perfect foundation for singer Chris Rhoten to plant seed of utter destruction in songs like the 'Jig Is Up,' 'Fuck It,' and powerhouse 'Hot Smoke And Sassafrass.' The songs are infectious with a keen humor ('Low Man On The Totem Pole,' 'Pussy On The Corner') with well-oiled song writing ('Chrome And Gold,' 'Z-50 Horizon') to just plain fun ('Hung Like Horses,' 'Back When I Was A Miner'). The band strike a familiar chord with the Cutting Edge staff in that they are Maryland's answer to Ohio's American Dog. A little ZZ Top, a bit of roughhouse blues and a smattering of heart-stopping NWOB metal. Take it, hear it, love it!

DAMN YANKEES: Don't Tread CD. Original 1st press 1992. Check videos.
The band was formed in 1989, consisting of Tommy Shaw of Styx, Jack Blades of Night Ranger, Ted Nugent of The Amboy Dukes and a successful solo career, and Michael Cartellone.
Presumably inspired by the musical of the same name, Nugent once also explained that he coined the name because whenever someone asked him how he and Tommy Shaw would sound playing together, he would always reply by saying they would sound like “a bunch of damn Yankees.”
In 1992, Damn Yankees went gold with their follow-up album Don’t Tread. The title song, sung by Blades, enjoyed extensive coverage at the Barcelona Olympic Games. It contained a few minor hits, such as "Mister Please," "Where You Goin’ Now," and "The Silence Is Broken," a power ballad featured in the 1993 Jean-Claude Van Damme film Nowhere to Run. The brightest moments of the album are the ones that are trademark Nugent.

Starz came from the New York glam scene in the early to mid-70s and served up a Hard Rock feast like KISS and Angel. KISS and Angel shared labels, KISS and Starz shared management…..the seeds were planted for Starz to be big.
VIOLATION is Starz’ second album and it is a ’70s Hard Rock classic. ’Cherry Baby’ is a Pop Rock radio hit if I ever heard one. Very simple and direct with a fat bass and decent guitar lines. Michael Lee Smith crooning into the catchy chorus for us to sing along. ‘Rock Six Times’ is a riff rocker full of power and punch. Some interesting guitar tones on this track as well as heavier drums.
STARZ: Live in Canada LP. great '70's rock. Check samples.
contains a Live recording of a STARZ concert the band gave in Toronto, Canada back in 1978. Only released as 'Live in Canada' on LP by Heavy Metal Records in 1985, never on CD. The band has released many Live discs, but I think this one is their best, also the sound is pretty good and this must have been a great concert including the best songs of the band. Great to hear the best STARZ song ever, "Last night I wrote a letter", in a live version. This is really fantastic 70s Melodic Rock. Also great to hear are those classic 70s rockers such as "Outfit", "Subway terror" and "Waitin' on you". The whole LP is full of that typical 70s Rock'n'Roll. So, if you want to hear that good-old-time rock'n'roll from the 70s, I can really recommend this great live LP of one of the best rockbands from the 70s.
