DETECTIVE An Anglo-American Hard Rock outfit formed in 1975 comprising ex SILVERHEAD frontman MICHAEL DES BARRES, former STEPPENWOLF guitarist Michael Monarch and ex YES and BADGER keyboardist Tony Kaye. DETECTIVE estabished a reputation for themselves as a band in the vein of LED ZEPPELIN. Ironically, the group signed to ZEP's Swansong label! Guitarist Michael Monarch was to later record with ANDY FRASER, tour with MEAT LOAF and form STEEL MONARCH. Kaye rejoined YES in the early 80's via a spell with BADFINGER in 1978. Naturally, the charismatic Des Barres would enjoy a diverse career post DETECTIVE, recording a number of solo works; he also took up acting, appearing in the likes of 'Cagney & Lacey' and 'Miami Vice' as well as minor movie roles. Barres wife, Pamela, authored an eye opening tomé based upon her exploits as one of America's leading 70's Rock groupies.

Band Of Rebels is a new solo album from the leader of punk legends D.O.A. and Canadas's godfather of punk Joe Shithead Keithley. This 14 song album combines punk-a-billy, ska, punk and roots rock. It's funny, political, upbeat and incredibly energetic. The songs talk about smokin' pot, troublemaking, Star Trek, revolution and fucking with corporations.

Standout tracks are: Bust Me Loose, Record Company Ripoff, Rebel Kind and Fuck The Corporation.

The 12 guest musicians are loosely known as the "Dirty Dozen" and includes Randy Rampage (D.O.A., Annihilator), Kevin Kane (Grapes of Wrath) Jesse Zubot ( Zubot and Dawson) and The Great Baldini (D.O.A.)

Mark Werchowski is from Oriskony, New York City and his album hits the mark right from the moment the chords of "Franscene" kick in. "Crash Your Party" is a super groovy hard rocker which reminds me of classic Kiss! Mark is
influenced by the likes of Tommy Bolin and Steppenwolf and it shows in his music. This is good; a thoroughly enjoyable record. Check out the excellent "Games" which you just can't help but sing-along to and it's the same score with "Baby Hold On" which has an early Whitesnake bluesy/melodic feel. "Corrupt Me" is also pretty cool, in fact the whole CD is very cool and structured around simple but effective songs with the only critical point being the production quality which has a very raw live feel, but maybe that's the way Mark wanted it to sound, like those old Bolin and Steppenwolf albums

Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction play a sleazy style of commercial hard rock featuring big riffs and choruses, as was the trend in the band’s heyday of the mid-to-late 80s and early 90s. The highly camp lyrics are intended as self-parody, and can be seen as either humorous by those who "get the joke", or offensive by those who take them at face value, for their often lascivious and misogynist tone. Song titles like "Back Seat Education", "Feed My Frankenstein", "High Heeled Heaven", and "Trash Madonna" illustrate Mindwarp's tongue-in-cheek approach. Lyrical content also exhibits a send up of cult worship, often of Zodiac Mindwarp's self-proclaimed raging libido, with the frontman claiming the titles, sex fuhrer, love dictator, and high priest of love. Songs such as "Holy Gasoline", "President of the United States of Love", "Messianic Reprise", and "Elvis Died for You" are similarly inclined. Although often overlooked, Zodiac has written songs such as Hoodlum Thunder, from the album of the same name, that offer a scathing take on the then-current political actions of western powers, particularly commenting on war and imperalism.

On Your Feet or on Your Knees was Blue Öyster Cult's first live album, released in early 1975. Each of the band's first three studio albums are represented by three songs each, two other songs are covers ("I Ain't Got You," albeit with modified lyrics, and "Born To Be Wild"), and one ("Buck's Boogie") is an original instrumental that remains a staple of the band's live shows to this day. The 12 songs include performances at the Academy of Music in New York, the Paramount Theatre in Portland, the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, the Show Palace in Phoenix, the Long Beach Arena, the P.N.E. Coliseum in Vancouver and the Capitol Theatre in New Jersey, though it is not clear which songs came from which venues and on what dates.
