THE CONFEDERACY: Blasphemy CD £0 Free FOR ORDERS OF £15+ N.W.O.B.H.M. Saxon, Tygers Of Pan Tang, Spartan Warrior, Tokyo Blade.
THE CONFEDERACY: Blasphemy [Here is a band upholding the ancient flame of heavy metal. Hailed by some as
one of the saviours of the Australian metal scene, an exaggeration to my way of thinking (just listen to The Amenta for instance and you will understand) but still «Blasphemy» may be regarded as an enjoyable heavy metal release… if heavy metal is still your law. The music delivered throughout is eighties hard rock coupled with Saxon, Tygers Of Pan Tang, Spartan Warrior, Tokyo Blade and other N.W.O.B.H.M. influences. Like the aforementioned references, there is certain old dated classicism present in The Confederacy music. The production is also a bit flat, which does detract from the band’s energy and enthusiasm, but it must not really be a significant problem if you still like the afore-mentioned old timers] Free £15+

Tony and Jeff had something special, besides the bags of talent and being able to actually sing, the songs had a raw edge coupled with a mix of Heavy Metal, rock and a sensitivity which can be heard in the quieter ballad numbers like Digby, Poor Boy Blues and Miracles. All the songs are based on their own personal experiences. You could feel the hurt, the pain and the frustration in just about every line of each song. (The only exception was 'Who is my killer' this is a horror story inspired by Edgar Allan Poe). This coupled with their powerful vocals and sometimes eerie harmonies made for a unique act. Steve Prothoroe on lead guitar, added the punch that was to become the Charlie Ungry sound.
