Whereas the band were searching for the sound suiting them as well as their songs the best way possible for two albums, they now got it. The guitar tone finally reached thrash metal sharpness here and now we can hear what riffs like these could and should sound like. None of that sludgy death metal inspired down tuning or blurry sound. It’s thrash metal all the way here.Shredding instead of humming. We all know that a sharper sound gives riffs more definition and especially faster music sounds even faster this way.

Razor formed in 1984.They have issued many classic metal albums over their 16 year career including Evil Invaders, Violent Restitution, Shotgun Justice and Open Hostility. Toured with the likes of Slayer, Motorhead and Venom all over Europe.
As the name suggests, this album should be played a loud as possible. Along with Annihilator, Razor is one of the Canadian thrash giants. This album is thrash. No doubt about it. Unlike Annihilator, Razor has not strayed far from their roots, and Decibels is the testament to their legacy.
Every song on this album is fast. The guitars sound like chainsaws ripping through anything they touch. Everything about the album is sharp, and thrashy. The solos are still fast, and still awesome. Everything about this album is at light speed. There is no compromise whatsoever. The speed of this album can be compared to that of a machine gun. Reloading is the equivalent of switching tracks.

Formed in the summer of 1997 by the Engman brothers (Johan and Mattias) Hatework (under the name Soulgrinder) arose from the ashes of Cease to exist and Anchorhead which had booth been but to sleep. Later that year they were joined by longtime friend and drummer of Berserk Markel Månson on vocals. The line-up was completed by Fredrik Sjöstedt on bass.

After a while the need for a second guitarist became to obvious and Mia Karlsson joined to fill the empty spot. Due to some problems between members Fredrik quit the band in the spring of 1998 and a replacer was quickly found in Mauri Jofré. Later that year Mia quit the band and the band continued with only one guitarist.
