The story of ZSK sounds like a classic Punkrock fairy-tale. Four friends start a Punkrock band and begin practicing in the basement of their parents house. The first demo-tape sells over 500 copies and beside of shows in small clubs and squats, they play gigs in parking lots of the big halls of NOFX, VANS WARPED TOUR and the SKATEBOARD WORLD CUP. This brings them a lot fans, gigs with THE EXPLOITED, AGNOSTIC FRONT and THE DISTILLERS as well as a record deal. In 2002 they released their first full-length record Riot Radio produced by Flo V. Schwarz and recorded in the Woodhouse Studios, Hagen, including a track by ROGER MIRET from AGNOSTIC FRONT.

With so many glossy Poison clones and generic Warrant imitators flooding the hard rock market in the late 1980s and early '90s, The Almighty proved to be a fresh air. A press release likened their work to "the soundtrack for a biker bar" -- an honest description of a freewheeling, gutsy effort that never sounds contrived or formulaic. In contrast to so many of the "hairspray" bands out at the time -- many of which seemed to be more concerned with their image than their music -- the Scottish band thrived on spontaneity and rawness.

Billy Idol and bassist Tony James rehearse for their post-Generation X careers, as a solo artist and as the leader of Sigue Sigue Sputnik, respectively . Kiss Me Deadly contains the dance hit "Dancing with Myself."

Kiss Me Deadly was the third and final full-length album from Generation X. In fact, the band shortened its name to "Gen X" for this release. Following the departure of all original members with the exception of Tony James and Billy Idol and the addition of ex-Clash drummer Terry Chimes, the album featured a revolving door style utilising several different guitarists. These included The Rich Kids' Steve New, James Stevenson of Chelsea, future Public Image Ltd. guitarist John McGeoch and ex-Sex Pistol, Steve Jones.
Perhaps due to this lack of a permanent line-up, Kiss Me Deadly is a very bass driven and experimental effort, a rough contrast to the band's previous pop-punk albums. Whilst the earlier albums were hardly best sellers, Kiss Me Deadly failed to secure any placing on the UK album chart.

Mournblade was a British NWOBHM band who made two albums in the 1980s: Time's Running Out and Live Fast Die Young. Several of their songs feature references to Michael Moorcock's work.

- by '86, they were regularly headlining major London venues like the Marquee, the 100 Club and Dingwall's. It should be remembered that prior to this, they'd slogged the London pub/club circuit for 2 years and then toured nationwide, during '85 clocking up over 250 shows. Much of this time was a blur of motorways, sleeping rough, soundchecks - and gigs! In addition, supporting major acts (as mentioned before) gave serious exposure. Most importantly, they were filling venues…by '86 and '87 filling decent-sized venues. Fans received their own newsletter, 'The Machine', and this went to various countries such as the US and Australia.
