Salty Dog - Every Dog Has Its Day (1990)
Salty Dog was a hard-rock band formed in late 1986 in Los Angeles by Jimmi Bleacher, Scott Lane, Michael Hannon and Khurt Maier. The band released its first and only major-label record in 1990, titled "Every Dog Has Its Day," composed of all original songs except for a cover of Willie Dixon's Spoonful. Guitarist Pete Reveen is the son of the magician Reveen the Impossibilist. The band, like many other hard-rock/metal bands in the early 1990s, were lost in the shuffle when the grunge-rock movement hit in late 1991 and swept the nation in 1992.

Salty Dog kicked ass. They should have been bigger for a little while at least. They had their own sound I thought. Better then the other bands from that era!

Good, solid 80's-style hair metal. I guess the obvious comparisons would be stuff like early Warrant and also the Skyhigh album. I like this, and most the songs are pretty cool, with few killers that most 80's / early 90's albums of this style had. Good and very solid

Soon after being dropped, Skid sold his car to finance a third album. Lets Rumble was recorded in a few days and the band went on a 9 week US club tour. BMG picked up the album and released it in the UK, which was followed by a 3 week UK tour. However, the label didn't want to release the album in the US. The band sent the album to a number of labels, but with the rise of Grunge their style of rock was out of fashion and there was no interest.

CD HOUSE OF LORDS - S/T! Brilliant melodic hardrock cd, featuring JAMES CHRISTIAN on leadvocals, released on the BMG / SIMMONS RECORDS label back in 1988! CD and inserts are in excellent condition. Hard to find nowadays, this one comes highly recommended!

Fastway is a British heavy metal band formed by guitarist, "Fast" Eddie Clarke, formerly of Motörhead, and bassist, Pete Way, formerly of UFO. This was a restart for Fastway using vocalist Lea Hart and session musicians. In 1990 this duo released Bad Bad Girls, employing various session musicians including members of Girlschool. It was widely ignored and sold poorly, so now it is hard to find.

American hard rockers Eric Steel. The band played uncomplicated, not over the top hard rock along the lines of Quiet Riot and maybe Kix. It's not glammy enough to put them with Poison and the like and never really passes into metal territory. A solid, workmanlike bar rock album.

any fan of melodic hard rock/melodic metal from the 80s will love this release. The other two ERIC STEEL albums are very good too, but this is a killer, a killer machine.

The guy on the cover is a weird combination of Billy Idol and Michael Monroe, and there's a topless chick whom he's just knocked out (what!?!). Maybe he didn't actually clock her, it coulda been a technical knock out... who knows. Whatever's going on, it looks sleazy enough. TKO make me wonder why commercial Metal in the 80s had to be so extremely poncey... cuz these guys are commercial, but still very heavy, still Metal, and infinitely better than any commercially viable hair Metal band of the era. In Your Face is a perfect balance of Hard Rock that retains some Metal bite, and every single song is well written, catchy, and memorable. This is a truly great album... sometimes you really can judge a book by it's cover.

Hear 'n Aid was a one-off project of the hard rock/heavy metal scene of the 1980s to raise money for famine relief in Africa. According to Ronnie James Dio's MySpace profile, the project raised $1 million within a year.
