CATS IN BOOTS: Demonstration [Japanese copy. Rare.
A sleaze metal band that at times beat bands such as Motley Crue at their own game, however disinterest caused this trashy rock band to disband with little fanfare.
Guitarist Takashi "Jam" O'Hashi had reached stardom in his home country of Japan while wearing traditional Kabuki makeup and claiming to be "the second coming of the devil" in the band Seiki Matsu. But he had his eye on American acclaim, and together with his bassist friend Yasuhiro "Butch" Hatae they headed to Los Angeles. It was there that they spotted a band called Merri Hoax, and more importantly their singer, Joel Ellis. The persistence of O'Hashi and Hatae won Ellis over, and with the addition of his drumming band mate Randy Meers, Cats In Boots was born.
They recorded a demo and then went off to Japan where O'Hashi's name and rock magazines helped push the album to #1 on the independent charts on it's way to selling over 10,000 copies. The first major label release, Kicked & Klawed featured some re-recorded versions of songs of the East Meets West demo and shot to #3 on the Japanese charts, unfortunately success was limited elsewhere.

ARC ANGELS Geffin promo copy .....The legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan band (check VIDEO)
The Arc Angels are an Austin, TX, rock quartet formed by the late Stevie Ray Vaughan's rhythm section, Tommy Shannon (bass) and Chris Layton (drums) after the guitarist's death in 1990. The group is filled out by two lead vocalist/lead guitarists, Doyle Bramhall II and Charlie Sexton. Sexton had a Top 40 single in "Beat's So Lonely" at the age of 17 in 1986. The Arc Angels released their self-titled debut album in January 1992 "When Charlie Sexton, Doyle Bramhall II, Tommy Shannon, and Chris Layton first formed the Arc Angels, the Double Trouble drummer had something of a vision. "I knew it would be great if this band stayed together 10 years," says Layton, "but my gut instinct told me we'd burn bright and fast. It was like a torrid love affair -- you can't spend years on it and retain the volatility. It happens and it's over. I didn't see us all growing old together."
YOUNG & FABULOUS: S.T [Promo album. Ultra glam, "party glam" / "sleaze glam"must have item] Check sample!!
incl. great Beastie Boys cover!!
========================================================
I was downright floored when I listened to this! I was surprised at how much I really enjoyed it. I would categorize it more as "party glam" than "sleaze glam" (if one can draw that distinction).
It's fun, catchy, and infectious. Imagine a blend of The B-52s meets Dr. Frankenfurter (The Rocky Horror Picture Show).
Many of the lyrics are outright hilarious (see I Get More Pussy Than Frank Sinatra), and the quasi-cover tune Black Madonna just has to be heard to be appreciated! The musicanship is first-rate, and the band is quite tight.
The performances and production are considerably more polished than the vast majority of glam I've heard over the years.
I like the overall attitude of the music. The band takes potshots at the mainstream, while never taking themselves too seriously. The music continually exudes "fun"; I can only imagine what this band is like live. I think they'd be an absolute blast!
If you're looking for some fun music, this is definitely the release for you.
As the title of track 3 states, The Party Starts Now!
