METAL SESSIONS Vol 1. [Rare compilation CD with French underground Metal bands. All kinds of Metal]
METAL SESSIONS: Vol 1. [Compilation with French underground bands. All kinds of Metal
|Bands:
SYRENS CALL, COWERS, SLIPSTREAM, SEYMINHOL, NECROPSY, C-ONE, CIRCLE'S END, BLOWBACK, LADY MACBETH, NO COMPROMISE, BLOODLESS, UMBILICUS MUNDIS, ULTIMATUM, CRS, AEGIRSON
A pretty cool compilation of unsigned bands; contains 15 tracks from French and Belgian bands and ranges from the more traditional end of metal and thrash (complete with some good widdly guitar solos) to something on the verge of death metal near the end.
Impressive original metal (like opening band, Syrens Call). There's no compromising the full-on metal guitars throughout this compilation - not a ballad in sight (cool!). Although there are a variety of styles on this album, they all seem to suit being together here - the order is well chosen. All of them are reasonably original, to varying degrees and make for an enjoyable compilation of metal the way it should be. However, 'Eternity' by C-One heavily “borrows” a few elements for Black Sabbath's 'Sweet Leaf' and a Led Zeppelin song!
Raw Noise + CHAOS U.K: making a killing .... Split LP. Incl. Led Zeppelin cover! Check samples!
Split LP from legendary Chaos U.K. (just like Disorder I first saw/learned about them from the ''UK/DK'' movie) and Raw Noise.
Raw Noise was one of the first to play an aggressive style crust punk. This crust punk would later be known as grindcore.

Pictures at Eleven is the debut solo album by former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant, released in 1982. Genesis drummer Phil Collins played drums for six of the album's eight songs. Ex-Rainbow drummer Cozy Powell handled drums on "Slow Dancer" and "Like I've Never Been Gone".
Pictures at Eleven is the only one of Plant's solo albums to appear on Led Zeppelin's record label Swan Song. By the time of Plant's next release, 1983's The Principle of Moments, Swan Song had ceased to function and Plant had started his own label titled Es Paranza, which would also be distributed by Atlantic Records.

QUARTZ: Stand Up And Fight NWOBHM LP Check samples
The name of Birmingham Metallers Quartz is now synonymous with the legendary NWOBHM movement. Quartz are rooted in the industrial hotbed that gave vent to so many world status acts. Indeed, Mike Hopkins’ act Way Of Life, pre Quartz, featured no less than a pre Led Zeppelin John Bonham on drums. Prior to their 1st album, the band had already proven their mettle with the single releases & tours supporting AC/DC & Black Sabbath. The Sabbath connection proved a useful ally. Sabbath’s tour manager Albert Chapman took over the business reins whilst guitarist Tony Iommi lent his skills to producing the band. Even Queen guitarist Brian May handled lead on 1 track. Keyboard player Geoff Nichols joined Black Sabbath later on.
songs:
Stand up and fight, Charlie Snow, Can't say no to you, Revenge, Stoking up the fires of hell, Rock 'n' roll child, Questions, Wildfire
