Have you looked for a Girlschool CD at your local retail store lately? GOOD LUCK! Grab these hard-to-find classic albums if you like fun, high energy 80's metal. This is played light-hearted, with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and is just plain cheesy (in a good way) in places. It has a driving party beat that you just can't find anymore, and I love both of these albums. Thanks to whoever was responsible for getting this released. Buy it, crank it, and keep Kelly Johnson's spirit alive forever. Girls rock.

British born vocalist William Lennox and guitarist Frank Beckings chose to regroup, with Irish bass player Gareth Thomas (ex-PADDY GOES TO HOLLYHEAD and DOCTOR AND THE MEDICS) and drummer Ingo Plaz joining a revised line-up. Plaz decided to leave later in the year, so ex-NENA drummer Rolf Brendel was drafted and the band changed names to CRASH N' BURN, with BMG taking up their option on the band for Europe and Britain. This release here, turned out to be a collection of catchy songs and, prior to its release, the band toured Britain as support to FM, followed by a guest slot on the SCREAMING JETS tour.
Love this one - pretty solid release - sounds a bit like The Cult at times

This one is amazing. Hard to compare to anyone else, the singer sounds slightly like Davy Vain, but the music is much more melodic than Vain. Anyway, get it for yourself. You won't regret it. Absolutely no fillers!

Tobruk was an English rock band, formed in 1981 during the NWOBHM movement, their sound was more melodic and polished After signing to EMI (Parlophone) in 1984 Tobruk went on a club tour before playing some dates with Diamond Head. They also toured the UK supporting UFO.
They then ventured to Philadelphia to start recording their debut album, also titled 'Wild On The Run" [(Parlophone / EMI) 1985]. Lance Quinn from Lita Ford and Bon Jovi-fame co-produced the album with the band. The album was released in May 1985 and tours followed supporting UFO, Tokyo Blade and Manowar.
A second album was released through FM Revolver, called 'Pleasure + Pain'.
Then singer Tony Martin, joined but nothing came of it and the band split for good. Martin went on to join Black Sabbath. Tobruk guitarist Nigel Evans spent some time touring with Shy.

ASAP: Silver And Gold LP Gatefold PROMO [Adrian Smith IRON MAIDEN guitarist after he left Maiden] Check samples
ASAP: Silver And Gold [Adrian Smith, the IRON MAIDEN guitarist’s band immediately after he left Maiden. Joining Smith in A.S.A.P. came fellow guitarists Dave Colwell, previously with URCHIN, 720 and SAMSON, and Andy Barnett, also ex-URCHIN, bassist Robin Clayton, keyboard player Richard Young and drummer Zak Starkey, the son of THE BEATLES drummer Ringo Starr. Smith had tested the waters for his projected solo career whilst still a member of IRON MAIDEN by performing fun club gigs and performing lead vocals on the track 'Reach Out', the B-side to the 'Wasted Years' single. A.S.A.P. released a well received AOR influenced Rock album that had many critics commentating on Smith's songwriting prowess. However, although A.S.A.P. charted moderately and the band's press profile was high, the project soon folded.Following A.S.A.P.'s demise Andy Barnett later joined slick AORsters FM, whilst Dave Colwell found success with BAD COMPANY
FROZEN TEARS: Silence of the Night CD. Rare Melodic hard rock A.O.R with an '80s angle + Kiss cover
FROZEN TEARS - SILENCE OF THE NIGHT (1997, INDIE)
Thanis Akritidis - vocals
John Powers - guitars, keyboards, bass
Steve Sisma - drums
There is some mention of this band in the press as being an AOR band. Perhaps the monicker suggests this is the case, but I'm not sure I agree with this tag. Fairly heavy handed effort by this Melbourne trio, who judging by the liner notes, have some pretty impressive friends in the biz, well Thanis does anyway. And good on him! And good on him also for getting this 15 track effort, all 72 minutes worth, out on CD.
