ILLOGICIST: Polymorphism of Death CD Rare Technical Death Metal DEATH, ATHEIST, SPASTIC INK. Highly recommended!!
Technical Death Metal band from Italy. ILLOGICIST lists DEATH, ATHEIST, SCEPTIC, and SPASTIC INK as their main influences. Their sound definitely recalls latter day DEATH with some ATHEIST and SCEPTIC here and there. Polymorphism of Death consists of three songs and is a little over 19 minutes in length. "Warped" starts the disc off in fine latter day DEATH style and remains mostly mid paced except for a few faster sections. The ATHEIST sound sneaks in occasionally with some choppy riffing and bass string plucking. "Visions of Decay" is similar in style to " Warped" except that it is a bit catchier. Strangely enough, the guitar tone towards the end of the song is similar to the crunchy riffs on PARADOX's Thrash sound. About one minute into "Grimaces", the listener is treated to a short jazzy segment a la CYNIC or ATHEIST circa Elements. The body of the song consists of start-stop ATHEIST riffing and bass playing that also similar to ANACRUSIS circa Reason.
